After years of twisting Hip-Hop to his Chap-Hop will, Mr.B finally brings you the full story
of Rap as only he can tell it - Straight Out Of Surrey.
Mr.B invented Chap-Hop in 2007, having spent years as a Britrap hitmaker (anyone
remember ‘Eat My Goal’?) and performing with such luminaries as Grandmaster Flash
and Gravediggaz. Since then he has travelled the world, from The Royal Albert Hall to
Osaka, Banstead to Berlin, Manchester to Minneapolis, Norway to New York and the
Edinburgh Fringe to Glastonbury bringing his beats, rhymes and manners, as well as
songs about cricket, pipe smoking, high society and interfering with livestock.
The album accompanying this tour will be his fifteenth. His videos have garnered millions
of views on YouTube and his media appearances have included rapping for Jeremy
Paxman on Newsnight, playing live on BBC Radio One for Rob Da Bank, Nick Grimshaw
& Scott Mills, on Radio Two for Claudia Winkleman & Steve Lamacq, 6 Music for Tom
Robinson & Shaun Keaveny, Radio Four with Diane Morgan, discussing Hip-Hop on
Romesh Ranganathan’s podcast and rhyming for Zoe Ball on Sky Arts. He was also once
on the front page of the Wall Street Journal and was described by the Daily Mail as
‘Controversial’.
Equal parts rapper, banjolele maverick, storyteller, beatmaker and dandy, his ‘Probably
Accurate Hip-Hop History Show’ is packed with interpretations of rap favourites and
original songs. It will amaze with previously unknown facts, stories, fly dancing and
maybe a just a bit of guessing.
Mr.B always entertains, educates and informs…and sometimes slightly fibs.
